In app notifications within the Trygve app

When there is activity within Trygve, you receive a notification within the app. For instance if someone posted an event nearby, replied to your comment or invited you to their group. You find your notifications in the notification center from the main navigation in the Trygve app.

Notification settings

You can change what kind of notifications you receive in the Trygve app settings. Open Trygve > Settings > Notifications.

You can also edit notifications on group level by silencing certain groups. In order to do so, navigate to group settings for the group.

Sound and vibration

If you have your volume turned up a specific Trygve sound will play when you get a notification. Today it is not possible to choose own sounds.

Push notifications

Push notifications are the notifications that your phone displays even when you don't have the app open. You receive push notifications from Trygve when you receive an in-app notification, when someone writes in a group chat, or when there is other activity that could interest you.

Issues with push notifications

Having trouble receiving push notifications to your phone, or are they arriving with a delay? There are several different settings that may cause issues with push notifications. Review the steps below to troubleshoot the issue.

iPhone:

Make sure you have a working internet connection

Can you access the internet?

Make sure you have activated notifications within the Trygve app

Open the Trygve app > Settings > Notifications and activate notifications.

Make sure Trygve is permitted to send push notifications

Open your phone settings, scroll down the list and press "Trygve" and then "Notifications". Enable all options.

Make sure mobile data is activated for Trygve.

Open your phone settings, press "Trygve" and make sure "Mobile data" is enabled.

Make sure "Low Power Mode" is inactivated

If Low Power Mode is active it may affect the background activity for the Trygve app.

Make sure the phone is not in "Do not disturb" mode

If the phone is in "Do not disturb" mode no notification will be displayed. Unfortunately, there is no possibility to exclude Trygve from this limit, to the app is unable to send you notifications.

Are you not receiving any notifications (from any app)?

Check your internet connection and read more about how to troubleshoot your push notifications on the Apple web page.

If you're still having issues, you may try the following:

  • Uninstall Trygve and reinstall the app
  • Log out from Trygve and log back in
  • Reboot your phone
  • Try using a different internet connection (if you have Wi-Fi try mobile data, and vice versa)
  • Reset your phone to factory settings (note: this will delete everything on your phone)
